In-Building Mobile Coverage Solution for Lidl Ireland – Wexford Store

Lidl Ireland is one of the country’s leading supermarket chains, operating over 200 stores nationwide. Lidl required a reliable indoor mobile coverage solution for their newly constructed Wexford Town store. Due to the building’s modern materials and structure, mobile signal strength inside the premises was poor, impacting store operations, payment systems, and overall customer experience. The solution needed to provide consistent, multi-operator signal coverage throughout the building, ensuring seamless mobile connectivity for both staff and customers.
MagicOffice platform with our ZoneDAS One distributed antenna system. The selected multi-
band configuration (B1/3/8/20) ensured full compatibility with all major Irish mobile networks.
The installation included:
- A Base Unit with four radio modules and an Ethernet signal distribution module
- One RU with integrated omni-antennas for internal coverage
- One RU4C connected to ceiling-mounted antennas for extended reach
This setup provided seamless mobile coverage across the entire store while maintaining flexibility for future scalability. Installation was completed with minimal disruption to store fit-out and operations.

Following the initial survey, VEI Global designed a custom signal-boosting architecture using
Zyxel MagicOffice as the donor source. This was connected to the ZoneDAS One distribution
system via structured cabling to ensure even signal distribution.
The base unit was installed in the main comms room, with strategically placed RUs providing
coverage throughout the sales floor, storage, and back-office areas. All components were
tested and validated across multiple frequency bands to guarantee consistent, high-quality
performance across all Irish mobile networks.
