ENHANCING CONNECTIVITY WITH GSM BOOSTING

VEI Global were tasked with mobilising teams of field engineers to deliver and install GSM Boosting solutions for our client’s car rental counters across Europe. The objective was to strengthen mobile coverage for both staff and customers at busy locations where reliable connectivity is critical for operations.
At our Integration Centre, VEI Global staged, configured, tested and shipped all GSM Boosting equipment prior to installation. In addition, our localisation teams provided on-site setup support, user training, and follow-up remote administration. The project was regarded by our client’s senior management as a major success delivered against challenging timeframes.
THE BACKDROP
Our client initially requested VEI Global to install approximately 1,000 GSM Boosting devices across their European network of rental sites within a 2–3 month period. However, due to an impending regulatory deadline and delays in equipment availability, VEI Global were asked to accelerate delivery. We were tasked not only with installation but also with pre-configuration, staging, testing and shipping—all within a compressed 6-week timeframe.
The project scope expanded further to include ongoing remote support, ensuring staff could maximise the benefits of the new GSM Boosting system. VEI rapidly mobilised large-scale resources, involving:

DEFINING THE PROJECT NEEDS
The project was broken down into three key phases:
Phase 1 – Pre-configuration
All GSM Boosting equipment was staged, tested, and shipped directly from our Integration Centre. This pre-installation work identified and resolved any technical issues in advance, ensuring site readiness.
Phase 2 – Implementation
Each site required on-site installation and optimisation of the GSM Boosting system to ensure maximum coverage and signal quality. VEI developed a centralised portal for device and site records, ensuring all installations were logged, verified, and signed off as “live” on first visit—minimising costly rework. Despite access challenges during the busy holiday season, VEI Global successfully installed and commissioned every site within the 6-week deadline.
Phase 3 – Training & Support
Following installation, VEI Global provided multilingual remote training (German, French, Italian, Spanish) for local staff to manage the boosted GSM systems effectively. This training guaranteed both staff confidence and smooth end-user experience for customers relying on strong mobile signal at car rental counters.
